Appointments

alt• On January 6, 2015, Judge Dean C. Bucci, (at left) Paulding Judicial Circuit, was sworn-in by Gov. Nathan Deal as the state's first Hispanic Supeiror Court judge.

• On January 14, 2015, Gov. Nathan Deal administered the oath of office to two superior court judges in the Ocmulgee Judge Circuit.  Judge Alison T. Burleson and Judge Brenda Holbert Trammell were sworn-in to serve in the eight-county circuit in the State Capitol.  Judge Burleson fills the vacancy created by the death of Judge Jim Cline, and Judge Trammell fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Hulane George.
 
• Judge Travis Sakrison was sworn-in on February 7, 2015, as judge of the Superior Court Bench in the Coweta Judicial Circuit by Gov. Nathan Deal.  Judge Sakrison, who most recently served as Executive Director of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council, fills a new seat created for the five-county circuit by the Georgia General Assembly in 2014.
 
alt• On February 23, 2015, Judge J. Kelly Brooks (at right) was sworn-in as the newest judge in the Waycross Judicial Circuit by Gov. Nathan Deal.  Judge Brooks, who fills a new seat created by the Georgia General Assembly last session, served as State Court Judge in Charlton County since 2004.
 
Judge Chris Phelps was sworn-in on March 4, 2015, as Superior Court Judge in the Northern Judicial Circuit. Judge Phelps will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge John Bailey on December 31, 2014.
