The Federal Courts
• The US Senate confirmed three federal judges on November 18, 2014.  Judge Leslie Abrams was confirmed for the US District Court – Middle District of Georgia. Judge Abrams served as an Assistant US Attorney in the Northern District of Georgia. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Louis Sands.
Judge Mark Cohen and Judge Eleanor Ross were confirmed to fill vacancies in the US District Court – Northern District of Georgia. Judge Cohen, a partner at Troutman Sanders prior to his nomination, fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Clarence Cooper.  Judge Ross served since 2011 as a judge on the State Court of DeKalb County.  She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Charles Parnell.
Georgia Courts
• Judge Jackson E. Cox, State Court of Burke County, was administered the oath of office by Gov. Nathan Deal on December 10, 2014. Prior to his appointment, Judge Cox served as the Solicitor-General in Burke County.  Judge Cox fills the vacancy created by the death of Judge Jerry Daniel in January.
• On December 17, Judge Thomas H. Baxley was sworn in as superior court judge in the Pataula Judicial Circuit. Judge Baxley has served as the judge of the State Court of Early County since 1995 and fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Ronnie Joe Lane.
• Two new juvenile court judges, Judge Allison Toller and Judge Bo Weber, Jr., were appointed for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit in October 2014.  The superior court judges appointed the new judges who fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Cliff Jolliff and a newly created position.

• Gov. Nathan Deal has announced the appointment of Judge Dean C. Bucci, Paulding Judicial Circuit.  Judge Bucci, who is scheduled to be sworn-in in early January, replaces Judge James R. Osborne who resigned earlier this year.
