In Memoriam

• Judge John Paul Jones of Cartersville died on December 31, 2013.  Judge Jones served as a magistrate judge in Bartow County since 2000. He was a US Army veteran.
• Judge Cedric Thomas Leslie of Macon died on January 25, 2014.  Judge Leslie, a graduate of Mercer’s Walter F. Georgia School of Law, served as a magistrate judge in Bibb County.  He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
• Judge Jerry Daniel of Waynesboro died on January 30, 2014.  Judge Burke, a graduate of Mercer’s Walter F. Georgia School of Law, was elected to the State Court of Burke County in 2000.
• Judge Clarence Miller of Sylvester died on February 15, 2014.  A University of Georgia School of Law graduate, Judge Miller served as judge of the State Court of Worth County for 33 years.  Prior to his judicial career, he served four years as principal of Worth County High School.
