Planning for the 2014 Accountability Courts Conference is already underway

The Judicial Council/Administrative Office of the Courts is excited to announce the date and location for our statewide Accountability Courts Conference.  Next year’s conference will be held August 10-13, 2014, at the newly renovated Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel and Conference Center and is already poised to be the best one yet!

For the past 10 years, the Judicial Council/Administrative Office of the Courts has held this conference utilizing funding secured through state appropriations and fees.  As you may be aware, this conference is the only opportunity offered to accountability court teams across the state to meet and share valuable information.
The last conference exceeded attendance projections and expectations – we saw more than 750 attendees, speakers, and exhibitors.  We anticipate attendance to be between 900-1000 for the 2014 conference.  And because our conference is well-established and welcomed by the hotel, we have been guaranteed that our attendees will be comfortable and have ample space for breakouts and plenary sessions.  Room and registration rates will remain the same.
We have already starting working to put together what will be a first-rate conference outlining evidenced-based research and best practices.  Next year’s conference will include such items as (1) court and discipline specific learning tracks for juvenile and family drug, adult drug, and mental health, DUI/Drug and veterans treatment; (2) dedicated space and time for court teams to meet in the evening each day; (3) a special Accountability Court HERO award ceremony; (4) role specific breakout sessions/meetings allowing each court team member an opportunity to talk, share, and learn from their peers; (5) a meeting specifically for Coordinators with role specific training; and most importantly and (6) an opportunity to select your breakout sessions in advance during the registration process.
Registration will open in February 2014 so be on the lookout for future announcements about the conference!
