altJudge Carla Wong McMillian, Court of Appeals, was recognized by the Fayette-Starr’s Mill chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as its 2014 Notable Woman of History Award.  Judge McMillian was recognized for being the first Asian American female trial court judge in Georgia, the first female elected judge of Asian descent in Georgia, and first Asian Pacific American to be appointed to an appellate court in Georgia.
Judge Stephen Dillard, Court of Appeals, received the 2014 State Judge of the Year by Mississippi College School of Law. Judge Dillard is a 1996 graduate of Mississippi College School of Law.
altOn April 15, 2014, Judge Chase Daughtrey, (at right with Judge Mary Jo Buxton) Probate Court of Cook County, was recognized as the 2014 Probate Judge of the Year by the Council of Probate Court Judges.
The Supreme Court of Georgia presented Senior Judge John Allen with a resolution on April 17, 2014, in Columbus, GA.  The resolution, signed by all seven justices, recognized that despite growing up in segregated Columbus and entering the law profession without African-American role models, Judge Allen became a respected superior court judge and leader of the Judicial Qualifications Commission.

On May 5, 2014, Judge Michael Barker, Magistrate, Chatham County,  was recognized by the Council of Magistrate Court Judges as its 2014 Magistrate of Year.
