Georgia AOC Recognized for Excellence in Statistics Reporting

Atlanta, GA —The Court Statistics Project has awarded a 2014 Reporting Excellence Award to the Judicial Council/Administrative Office of the Courts of Georgia.  Each year, state court administrative offices submit data to the Court Statistics Project. The states that demonstrate substantial progress in their efforts to report accurate data are recognized with the Reporting Excellence Award. This year Georgia’s courts are being commended for increasing the number of case types reported in both general and limited jurisdiction courts as well as for submitting data accurate enough to be included in the Court Statistics Project’s analysis.
The award was presented at the Conference of State Court Administrators meeting in Savannah, GA, in December and will be highlighted in Examining the Work of State Courts, published by the Courts Statistics Project.  Marla Moore, Judicial Council Director of the AOC, stated her appreciation to the AOC’s Research Staff and the Clerks, Court Administrators, and Judges in all the courts for their commitment to reporting accurate data.
The Court Statistics Project — a joint project of the National Center for State Courts and the Conference of State Court Administrators — publishes and analyzes caseload data from the courts of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
