Law Day Activities Around the State

In addition to the Columbia County Day on the Bench, many around the state celebrate Law Day. Below is a list of some of the events that were held in celebration of Law Day 2016:

Cobb County

This year, Cobb County Bar Association celebrated Law Day over several days. From April 27 through April 29, a range of activities included a breakfast, lunch, golf tournament, and the BOOTS & BOW TIES Social with a raffle to benefit the Children's Emergency Fund.

Forsyth County

On April 21, Forsyth County hosted a luncheon at the Forsyth County Conference center on the campus of Lanier Tech to give out its annual Liberty Bell Award and to recognized winners of a poster contest concerning this year’s Miranda theme.

On May 3, Judge Jeffrey Bagley hosted a fairy tale mock trial put on by fifth graders from Chattahoochee Elementary School.

Clayton County

Clayton County hosted a Law Day lunch on May 6, 2016, with former Juvenile Court Judge Glenda Hatchett as its keynote speaker.

Henry County

On April 22, 2016 the Henry County Bar Association celebrated Law Day by hosting an event for its members at the Henry County Superior Court. Bobby Lee Cook, nationally recognized defense attorney, spoke at the event.
