Managing Court Financial Resources Course

The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) and the Administrative Office of the Courts hosted a three-day training session on Managing Court Financial Resources. The course is designed to enable participants to become familiar with financial reporting and auditing basics, improve and defend the court’s budget and resources, understand the balance between judicial independence and fiscal responsibility and learn practical steps courts can take during difficult fiscal times.
On April 23 through April 25, Mark Van Bever, Trial Court Administrator for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit in Florida, presented Managing Court Financial Resources to the group of 30 court administrators from throughout the state, including 22 AOC staff and eight trial court administrators.  Four participants were selected to serve as in-state faculty including Brad Butler, Superior Court Administrator, Conasauga Judicial Circuit; Cheston Roney, Court Administrator, Sandy Springs Municipal Court; Ashley Garner, AOC Budget/Fiscal Analyst; and Kim Burley, AOC Central Accounting Manager.
