The Thomas Jackson Juvenile Justice Center in Bibb County (Macon Judicial Circuit) is slated to open in Summer 2014.  The Juvenile Justice Center will house the county's juvenile courts as well as Department of Juvenile Justice, the District Attorney’s Office, the Public Defender’s Office, sheriff's office, and special offices for citizen panel reviews for children who are in foster care.
 
The 25,000 square foot facility is named after civil rights attorney Thomas M. Jackson, who became Macon’s first African American judge after challenging segregation in the 1960s.

Circuits: Clayton, Coweta, Griffin, Flint, Towaliga
 
Judge Matthew Simmons was selected to serve as the District Administrative Judge for the 6th Judicial District beginning July 1, 2014.  Judge Simmons is the chief Judge of the Clayton Judicial Circuit.
