Ferguson Summit

The "Georgia Reflections on Ferguson" Summit, planned by the Access, Fairness, Public Trust and Confidence Committee, the Council of Municipal Court Judges, and the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education, took place on December 15, 2016, in the President's Room, University Center, at Mercer University. The event was held on December 15, 2016, to commemorate the "Bill of Rights" Day.

Judicial Council Actions - December 9, 2016

The Judicial Council, chaired by Chief Justice Hugh P. Thompson, met today at the Carter Center Cyprus Room from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to discuss a variety of action items and reports.

Child Support Conference

On November 10, 2016, the second annual Child Support Conference was held in Columbus, GA.  The statewide conference, presented by the Georgia Commission on Child Support and the Georgia Division of Child Support Services, covered a wide variety of topics relating to child support including the new online calculator, income deduction, self employment, child support in military families, and much more.



Judge Don Wesley Thompson• On November 3, 2016, Gov. Nathan Deal administered the oath of office to Judge Don Wesley Thompson as Superior Court Judge of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.  Judge Thompson fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Jon B. Wood.
