Process Server Exam

The first Georgia Certified Process Server (GCPS) certification examination was administered May 3, 2012, at the Administrative Office of the Courts office in Atlanta.  A total of 53 process servers took the exam; fifty-one passed the exam and have received certificates.  The exam was developed by a committee of process servers and AOC staff. An outside company reviewed the test questions and determined them to be fair and reasonable.  A score of 71% is required to pass the exam.


Travel Form

The Administrative Office of the Courts will use the State Accounting Office’s travel form (http://bit.ly/OiwoXI) beginning July 1, 2012.   Staff and judges who attend ICJE training or other programs funded through the AOC fiscal office will be required to use this form.

In Memoriam

altJudge J. Taylor Phillips of Macon died June 15, 2012.  Judge Phillips retired in 1998 after serving the State Court of Bibb County as judge for 22 years.  He served as a senior judge since his retirement. Judge Phillips earned his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.  He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.
