Forty-seven state policymakers from across the country graduated September 21, 2013, from The Council of State Governments' Henry Toll Fellows program during CSG's 2013 National Conference.

Research has conclusively demonstrated that court-involved children and adolescents present with extremely high rates of traumatic stress caused by their adverse life experiences. In the court setting, we may perceive these youth as inherently disrespectful, defiant, or antisocial, when, in fact, their disruptive behavior may be better understood in the context of traumatic stress disorders.

What State Courts Can Do To Promote Juvenile Justice Reform

On October 1-2, 2013, Judge Sheri Roberts, Juvenile Court, Alcovy Judicial Circuit, was among thirty judges, court administrators, and leaders of national organizations and associations who attended the National Court Leadership Symposium in Washington, DC. Over the course of two days, participants heard from practitioners and experts in the field of juvenile justice.
