Judge Clyde Reese spent more than 20 years in a variety of legal jobs prior to his appointment on December 1, 2016 to the Court of Appeals. Judge Reese answered some questions about his first year on the bench of the Court of Appeals of Georgia.

A life-long Macon resident, Judge Tilman "Tripp" Self's choice of career was guided by the family business: lawyering and judging.  The third-generation judge answered some questions about his first year on the bench of the Court of Appeals of Georgia.

Judicial Building Groundbreaking

Justices of the Supreme Court and Judges of the Court of Appeals gathered under rainy skies on August 31, 2017 to attend the official groundbreaking for the Georgia Judicial Complex. Chief Justice Harris Hines, Chief Judge Stephen Dillard, and Gov. Nathan Deal were among the speakers who spoke about the building that will house the state's two appellate courts after its completion in 2019.

Dillard sworn in as Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals

Judge Stephen Louis A. Dillard was sworn in as the 30th Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals of Georgia on June 21, 2017. After inviting all 10,000 of his Twitter followers to his investiture, as well as family, colleagues, and court personnel, both the Court of Appeals courtroom and Supreme Court courtroom were filled to capacity.


Judge Dillard, a native of Macon, was appointed to the Court of Appeals on November 1, 2010 by Gov. Sonny Perdue.
